BOTSWANA
In Botswana, behold the celestial horizons on terrestrial seas.
Botswana has a fascinating combination of deltas, deserts and grasslands. The Okovango, the fourth-longest river in Africa, runs its course into the sands of the mighty Kalahari desert to create the world’s largest inland delta – an evergreen ecosytem that transforms grasslands and plains into waterways and marshes. Botswana has plenty of Africa’s top predators – lion, leopard, hyenas and the rare wild dog. Even the bird watching is exceptional here. The Central Kalahari desert is home to one of the world’s oldest people, the San bushmen.

Botswana also lays claim to Africa’s second largest migration. After the summer rains fill the desert waterholes, thousands of zebra, wildebeest and antelope migrate into the area for a feast.
Add to this the full range of hippos, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wild dog and dozens of other mammal species along with over 400 species of birds. The Botswana government pursues a sustainable policy of creating vast private reserves for small number of tourists, making the safari experience more intimate and authentic.
