Jamtara Wilderness Camp
In the heart of the enchanting Pench National Park lies the very source of Rudyard Kipling’s inspiration for the timeless magical tale, “The Jungle Book.” The park’s diverse inhabitants include the elusive leopard, majestic tiger, jungle cat, the untamed dhole (wild dog), the sloth bear, the wild boar, the sleek mongoose, the Indian bison, the spotted deer, and the regal sambar deer reign supreme.
The Campa is nestled on the forest’s edge, amid the rustic charm of rural Pench. This exquisite retreat, which takes its name from the quaint village of Jamtara, spans over 10 acres of pristine wilderness. Here, you’ll find 10 luxurious tents that redefine the concept of eco-luxury. Each of these elegant abodes gazes out upon a gentle stream.
Star Bed
For generations, villagers have upheld a timeless tradition of safeguarding their crops by spending their nights on rustic raised platforms called machans. At Jamtara camp, guests can immerse themselves in this unique and age-old experience, slumbering beneath a starlit canopy. The symphony of crickets, hooting owls, distant jackals, and the alarm calls of spotted deer paint a vivid and unforgettable nocturnal canvas.
