Bandhavgarh was the former hunting preserve of the Maharaja of Rewa. White Tigers, now a major attraction around the world’s zoos, were first discovered in Rewa, not far from here. The terrain is broken, with rocky hill ranges, running roughly east to west, interspersed with grassy swamps and forested valleys.

The vegetation is chiefly Sal Forest in the valleys and on the lower slopes, gradually changing to mixed deciduous forests on the hills and in the hotter drier areas of the park in the south and the west. The wide valleys along the streams have long linear grasslands flanked by Sal Forests. These together provide Bandhavgarh with its rich diversity.

Home of the Royal Bengal Tiger

Bandhavgarh has always been an excellent tiger habitat and is known for the highest density of Tigers in the world. Some of the most famous tigers to have inhabited Bandhavgarh and immortalized in BBC and National Geographic documentaries include Charger and Sita, B2, Bhokha, Bamera, Jhujhura female to name a few. The current dominant males in the park include the Mahaman Male, Bajrang, D1 and Chota Bheem

Multiple breeding females

Bandhavgarh is home to multiple breeding females that can be seen within the tourism areas of the park. Among them, Kajri, Chakradhara female, and Banbehi females currently dominate the stunning Tala zone of the park. Then there is the gorgeous Dotty, Mahaman female & Darra female who make up the other few

Amazing Wildlife

Bandhavgarh is also home to more than 37 species of mammals and more than 250 species of birds along with about 80 species of butterflies and a number of reptiles. Apart from the Tiger, the mammals living in Bandhavgarh include leopards, wolves, hyenas, wild dogs (Dhol), Indian Gaur, spotted deer (Chital), Sambhar Deer, Barking Deer, Sloth Bear, and many more.

Day 1
ARRIVE IN DELHI

Welcome to India

Your journey begins in Delhi, where you will be met on arrival and transferred to Roseate House.

Take the remainder of the day to settle in and relax after your journey. This first evening is intentionally unhurried, giving you time to rest before heading towards the forests of Madhya Pradesh.

Overnight: Roseate House, New Delhi

Day 2
DELHI → JABALPUR → BANDHAVGARH

From the City to the Wild

After checking out from Roseate House, transfer to Delhi Airport for your flight to Jabalpur.

From Jabalpur, the journey continues by road towards Bandhavgarh, taking you gradually away from the bustle of the city and into the rural landscapes of Madhya Pradesh. As the landscape changes, you enter the world of central India's forests.

On arrival, settle into Bagh Tola, your home for the next seven nights. The remainder of the day is at leisure, giving you time to settle into camp and begin experiencing the slower rhythm of life in the wilderness.

Overnight: Bagh Tola, Bandhavgarh

Day 3 - Day 7
BANDHAVGARH

Five Days in the Forest

The next five days are dedicated to exploring Bandhavgarh through Morning and Evening Game Drives.

With its sal forests, open meadows, rocky terrain and forested valleys, Bandhavgarh is a landscape of remarkable variety. Each habitat brings its own character and supports a rich diversity of wildlife, from mammals and birds to reptiles and butterflies.

No two drives are the same. The experience is shaped by the season, weather, changing light and what is happening in the forest around you. Fresh tracks, alarm calls, birdsong or movement in the undergrowth can all lead to something unexpected.

With an experienced guiding team, there is time to look beyond the obvious — to understand the subtle signs of the forest, observe animal behaviour and make the most of the photographic opportunities that unfold along the way.

The cooler, atmospheric hours of the morning give way to the warmer tones of afternoon and evening, bringing a different perspective to the landscape with every drive.

Across these five days, the aim is not simply to collect sightings, but to become immersed in the rhythm of Bandhavgarh and experience it as a complete ecosystem.

Overnight: Bagh Tola, Bandhavgarh
Safari: Morning & Evening Game Drives

Day 8
BANDHAVGARH

A Full Day in the Wild

Today offers a different kind of safari experience with a Full-Day Game Drive into Bandhavgarh.

Rather than returning to camp between drives, spend the day exploring the forest, allowing more time for the landscape to unfold at its own pace.

A full-day drive gives you the opportunity to travel further, spend longer in areas that capture your interest and experience the forest as it changes from the cool hours of morning through the warmth of the afternoon and into the softer light of evening.

There is no need to rush. Time becomes the luxury.

It is a day to immerse yourself in the landscape, observe the smaller details and allow the wilderness to set the pace.

Overnight: Bagh Tola, Bandhavgarh
Safari: Full-Day Game Drive

Day 9
BANDHAVGARH → JABALPUR → DELHI

Until Next Time

After checking out from Bagh Tola, transfer by road to Jabalpur Airport for your scheduled flight to Delhi.

Your Magical Bandhavgarh expedition comes to an end, taking with you the memories of the forest, its remarkable wildlife and the unexpected moments that make every journey into the wild unique.

A photo odyssey with Sara Jenner

For as long as Sara could remember she has had a passion for travel and searching for the wildest and most remote places on earth. Back in the UK when she was only 10, she remembers trading in her favourite pink bicycle for the money to start her travel fund. Every birthday and Christmas she added a little more in the kitty and finally, at 18 she realised her dream of diving at the Great Barrier Reef!

Ever since Sara has been travelling the globe in search of wild and remote places and has spent many months volunteering on wildlife conservation projects in a bid to help endangered species. Sara’s love of wildlife and the great outdoors has taken her to all seven continents. Over the past decade she has travelled extensively in the polar regions working as an Expedition Leader on small vessels in the High Arctic, Antarctica, and Sub Antarctic Islands.

Sara’s love for the wild extends beyond icy landscapes. As a photographic guide in the heart of Botswana, the enchanting realms of East Africa, and the mystical landscapes of India, she truly leads a life of two wondrous halves. With each click of her camera, Sara weaves captivating tales of nature and its untamed inhabitants, crafting exquisite snapshots of life’s most precious moments.

Step into Sara’s world and let her lens transport you to the untamed, where the beauty of wildlife dances in every frame.
