Botswana Expedition with Sara Jenner

- 2027 Departures
Botswana is undoubtedly one of the most incredible wilderness areas on Earth. The south and east consist of the jaw-dropping Kalahari Desert and lunar-like pans at Nxai and Makgadikgadi. The north and west, on the other hand, comprise the dazzling water worlds of the Okavango Delta and Chobe River ecosystem.

Track Big 5 in the Okavango Delta
The Big 5—rhino, elephant, lion, leopard, and buffalo—are at the top of every first-time safari-goer’s must-see list in Botswana. In places like Moremi and the Okavango Delta, you’re likely to encounter all of these iconic animals.
The Unrivaled Density of the Selinda Spilway
Water Safaris in the Delta
Traditionally, the Okavango Delta was navigated using mekoro, canoes carved from hollowed-out sausage tree trunks. Today, nearly all lodges use lighter, faster, and more eco-friendly fiberglass canoes. A ride in a mokoro offers one of the most tranquil experiences imaginable: as you glide quietly along, your guide will point out stunning lilies, tiny painted reed frogs, and majestic goliath herons.

Botswana is already speaking.
Your Botswana adventure begins at Maun, the dusty, characterful gateway to the Okavango. From here, a short flight carries you north over a landscape that gets wilder and more remote with every kilometre, until the Selinda Spillway appears below. A silver thread of water cutting through a sea of Mopane woodland and open floodplains.
This is one of northern Botswana's most prized and private wilderness areas, and for the next four days it belongs entirely to you. Settle in, pour a drink, and listen. Botswana is already speaking.
Overnight: Selinda Explorers Camp

There is a rhythm to a day in the Selinda Reserve that you will feel before you understand it.
Before the sun rises you are already moving, out in an open vehicle, scanning the spillway's banks as the first light turns the water to copper. The Selinda Spillway is one of Botswana's most productive wildlife corridors, and the density of animals here is extraordinary.
Elephant herds move along the banks in the early morning, Lions track Buffalo through the floodplain grasslands, Leopard sightings are more common than almost anywhere else in northern Botswana, and the birdlife is prolific for anyone paying attention. Dinner under a sky so full of stars it barely seems real.
Overnight: Selinda Explorers Camp

This is a completely different Botswana. Darker, more intimate, more dramatic.
A game drive on the way to the airstrip, because in Botswana, even a transfer is a wildlife experience. Then a short flight south into the heart of the Okavango Delta, and suddenly everything changes. Duba occupies a completely different world. A matrix of palm-dotted islands, flooded channels and ancient woodland that feels like it belongs to another era entirely.
Lion and Buffalo define this landscape in a way that is almost theatrical. The Buffalo herds are vast, the Lion prides large and bold, and the tension between them plays out daily across the floodplains around camp. Check in, walk to your tent, open the flap and look out across the water. The Buffalo are already here.
Overnight: Duba Explorers Camp

By now you have found the pace of Duba.
By now you have found the pace of Duba. Breakfast served on the drive rather than back at camp means you are always where the action is. Today might bring Wild Dogs, or a Leopard resting in a Jackalberry tree, or simply an hour watching a herd of five hundred Buffalo ford a channel in the afternoon light.
Guests regularly identify over 110 bird species across a stay here. The fire at Duba Explorers, under a canvas marquee on raised decking over the waterway, is one of the finest places to end a safari day anywhere in Africa.
Overnight: Duba Explorers Camp

Botswana has a way of staying with people long after the flight home.
There is a particular quality to the last morning light of a Botswana safari. Everything feels both sharper and more precious. Make the most of every moment this morning.
After breakfast, your guide drives you to Omdop Airstrip for the short flight back to Maun. The Delta shrinks below you, the channels and islands becoming an abstract painting, and then it is gone. But Botswana has a way of staying with people long after the flight home. You will find yourself back here. Everyone does.

A photo odyssey with Sara Jenner
For as long as Sara could remember she has had a passion for travel and searching for the wildest and most remote places on earth. Back in the UK when she was only 10, she remembers trading in her favourite pink bicycle for the money to start her travel fund. Every birthday and Christmas she added a little more in the kitty and finally, at 18 she realised her dream of diving at the Great Barrier Reef!
Ever since Sara has been travelling the globe in search of wild and remote places and has spent many months volunteering on wildlife conservation projects in a bid to help endangered species. Sara’s love of wildlife and the great outdoors has taken her to all seven continents. Over the past decade she has travelled extensively in the polar regions working as an Expedition Leader on small vessels in the High Arctic, Antarctica, and Sub Antarctic Islands.
Sara’s love for the wild extends beyond icy landscapes. As a photographic guide in the heart of Botswana, the enchanting realms of East Africa, and the mystical landscapes of India, she truly leads a life of two wondrous halves. With each click of her camera, Sara weaves captivating tales of nature and its untamed inhabitants, crafting exquisite snapshots of life’s most precious moments.
