VUMBURA PLAINS
Located on a high game concentration concession, Vumbura plains open on to floodplains, sheltering mopane woodlands and an expanse of flat savannah grasslands
The region has a high concentration of predators such as Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, and Wild Dog, offering an excellent all-round wildlife experience in a remote and private part of the Okavango. The annually flooded grasslands of the Okavango Delta surrounding Vumbura Plains are locally referred to as ‘melapo’ and offer good seasonal viewing of elephant, hippo, giraffe, impala, sable antelope, kudu, zebra, common waterbuck and reedbuck, tsessebe, wildebeest, red lechwe and Cape buffalo.
